PIERING COMPLETED

Our Site Supervisor called on Monday for an introduction and gave me a low down of what's to come. He has booked work for the next 7 weeks and said our Piering will happen  on Wednesday - give or take!

Our wonderful friends happened to be in the area after visiting their land in Box Hill and offered to come by ours to see if there's been any movement. Low and behold, moments after texting her directions to our street, she sends me an "OMG" and next thing you know she is sending photos and videos of what looks to be freshly poured concrete piers!! Very exciting indeed! It's the little progress that counts!

So what are Concrete Piers?

Before your builder lays the slab of your new home, the concrete piers have to be put in place. This involves your builder excavating a number of holes throughout the site, which will later be filled with concrete to strengthen the foundation of your new home.

The depth and width of these holes are determined by site engineers, however the depth of each pier on the site can vary depending on the amount of fill on the land. The best way to visualise piers is to think of them like the legs of a table.
