It was stairs week! We chose mitred handrails with matte black square balusters. We really wanted to keep it simple and minimalist so the mitred handrails was a must. It really gives it a sleek look with clean lines.
The carpenter was also on site this week
for electrical cutouts. We inspected every room in the house to make sure the
electrical cutouts were in the right places. Powerpoints, light switches,
alarms, pendant lights, downlights and video intercoms. Glad to say, everything
is where it should be. We also walked around every room to make sure the
powerpoints for the wall mounted tv's are the correct heights.
Back to the stairs, large stair windows make a huge
difference in my opinion. Let's in a lot of natural light! Especially because
the rumpus room upstairs only has a highlight window so the stair windows more
than makes up for it! ...
It was a huge thing for us
to see this finally get installed. It actually feels like a home now. After
last week's gyprock milestone, the stairs was the next big thing! As you can
probably tell, we are really just aiming for a simple, minimalist home. Some
would say that stairs should be a feature of a home, totally agree with that,
but we kept ours understated, i still say - hand on my heart that high ceilings
are still the WOW factor for me!️ I can not wait to see what
next week brings! Oh, you can see we opted for understairs storage, because
hey, the Dyson needs it's own special place too!
